Matter sensors for Google Home
Google's supported Matter device types include contact, occupancy (motion and presence), temperature, humidity, light level, air quality, smoke and carbon monoxide sensors. Water leak detectors are missing from that list, and the leak sensors catalogued here currently sit in the limited section below. A listed type can still arrive with fewer readings: Eve names no light-level support in Google Home for Eve Motion. Thread models make up most of this list, so a Nest Mini or Nest Audio is not enough on its own. Plan on a Google hub that is also a Thread border router, such as the 2026 Google Home Speaker or Nest Hub (2nd gen), within range of the sensors you rely on most.
