Only the Google products here can be the hub Google Home requires. Nest Hub (2nd gen), Google TV Streamer (4K) and Nest Wifi Pro are also Thread border routers, so each can finish Matter setup and allow control away from home; the 2026 Google Home Speaker does the same job with music and is reviewed with the speakers. SONOFF Bridge Max and SwitchBot AI Hub are Matter bridges: Google Home shows their supported Zigbee or SwitchBot devices as ordinary devices and the bridge itself as an inert control bridge. Both need a Google hub to reach Google Home, and neither is a Thread border router.
