What to know about Matter in Google Home
Leak sensors
Google's supported Matter device types include contact, occupancy, temperature, humidity, light level, air quality, smoke and carbon monoxide sensors but no water leak detector. No leak sensor in our catalogue has more than limited Google Home support.
Unlocking
Google disables voice unlock for Matter locks and switches off remote unlock on any Matter lock that does not require a PIN code. Locking and lock status are the dependable part.

Since an October 29, 2026 update, the Google Home app on Android shows live power and total energy for compatible Matter plugs that measure it.
Switch buttons
