Buy SONOFF AirGuard SAWF-07P when the room has a particle problem you can name. Cooking, candles, outdoor smoke, and air-cleaner performance are sensible reasons to put its PM2.5 or PM10 reading on a desk and into a Matter app. Stale air is a different problem: this model does not measure carbon dioxide. Matterhome has not tested the monitor, its readings, or its alerts.

Put it beside the problem, not against the wall

AirGuard measures 70 x 103 x 26 mm and shows a particulate concentration alongside temperature and humidity. SONOFF rates the particulate accuracy at ±10 µg/m³ from 0 to 100 µg/m³ and ±10 percent from 100 to 500 µg/m³, with updates every two seconds. These are manufacturer specifications, so compare the monitor's response before and after the room's actual source or air cleaner runs rather than treating one isolated reading as proof.

The rear vents decide where it can live. SONOFF says the intake and exhaust must remain uncovered and warns that mounting the unit against a wall can affect measurements. A shelf or desk with open air around the case is a better fit than a narrow gap behind furniture.

The monitor needs continuous 5 V, 1 A power over USB-C, plus stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It is not a battery sensor to carry between rooms. Pick the final location before pairing so the cable, Wi-Fi signal, airflow, and particle source all match the job.

Four full data paths and one reduced path

SAWF-07P pairs directly with a Matter controller over Wi-Fi. It does not need a Thread border router or a SONOFF hub. SONOFF's exact support table documents the following data and voice-query behavior:

Alexa is the compromised route. An air-quality level may suit a quick voice check, but it is not the numeric concentration needed for a precise threshold. Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant have the stronger documented data path.

The table does not promise every tile, trigger, notification, or history view in every app. Commission the monitor in the platform that will run the routine, then confirm the value and condition before an air cleaner depends on it.

Decide where the history should live

The screen, color indicator, and buzzer work without opening a phone. eWeLink adds thresholds, push notifications, indicator brightness, scheduled do-not-disturb periods, and up to one year of PM2.5 or PM10, temperature, and humidity history with export.

Those are vendor features. SONOFF does not say that Matter transfers its history, alarm configuration, or air-quality advice into another app. Use Matter for the current readings that the selected ecosystem exposes, and expect to keep eWeLink for firmware, history, thresholds, and deeper alert settings.
