Matter sensors for Home Assistant
Home Assistant is a strong match for sensors that report more than a single state. IKEA's ALPSTUGA shows why: Home Assistant handles all four of its measurement types, while Apple Home and Alexa may not show every CO₂ or particle reading. Settings depend on the radio: Aqara's FP300 lets Home Assistant adjust radar sensitivity and absence delay over Thread, but detection range and reporting intervals need Aqara's Zigbee mode. Most of these sensors use Thread, and Home Assistant's Matter firmware updates currently fail for Thread devices on a network with any Apple border router, so a home sharing its Thread network with Apple needs another update route, such as Apple Home for Eve sensors.
