arre Temperature Sensor (TTS1195 / 7Q-M7F8-98KW)

A nursery, basement, or wine cabinet does not need another dashboard tile. It needs a useful reading in the right place and an automation that can act on it. The arre Temperature Sensor is a compact, screenless option that reports temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure over Matter and Thread without a separate arre hub.

Matterhome has not tested the sensor. This guide covers the currently available single-unit model TTS1195, sold under Shopify SKU 7Q-M7F8-98KW and barcode 198168709931. The $34.99 sale price is the main attraction, provided a compatible Matter controller and Thread border router already serve the room.

Three readings are not three guarantees

arre says temperature, humidity, and air pressure update in Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings. That is broader than the familiar temperature-only use case, but the company does not show how each platform presents pressure, stores history, or lets a reading trigger a routine. Home Assistant is not listed for this exact product.

Treat temperature and humidity as the core buying case. A basement sensor could start a dehumidifier routine, while a nursery sensor could warn when the room leaves a chosen comfort range. Barometric pressure is a bonus only after the main platform proves that it exposes the reading in a useful place.

The current product material does not give a numerical accuracy tolerance or reporting interval. That makes the sensor suitable for ordinary room awareness and convenience automations, not for a collection, greenhouse, or health-related decision that needs documented measurement performance.

An older TUO support page also says VOC air-quality reporting would arrive through a later update. The current arre page no longer lists VOCs and describes only temperature, humidity, and air pressure. Do not buy this model for air-quality monitoring.

Place and pair it before trusting the number

The sensor is roughly 40 mm square and 10.2 mm thick. Its removable magnetic stand can sit on a shelf, or the included adhesive can secure it to a wall. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heating vents, cold drafts, or other spots that would make the number describe the equipment rather than the room.

The older technical page says the housing is not waterproof and is intended for indoor use. That rules out a damp greenhouse, exposed porch, or bathroom splash zone even though the published temperature range looks broad. The manual also warns that the magnetic mount should stay away from people with pacemakers or other medical devices affected by magnetic fields.

Power comes from one replaceable CR2032. arre's current page promises battery operation for months, while the older TUO support page says over one year. Plan around annual replacement and regard longer life as a result to confirm in the actual room, especially if frequent changes generate more reports.

Pulling the battery safety tab starts commissioning. The instruction booklet says five LED blinks followed by three blinks indicate pairing mode. Turn the sensor over, then scan or enter the Matter setup code in the chosen ecosystem while its controller can reach a compatible Thread border router.

Keep that setup code in a safe place. Before fixing the stand to a wall, move the sensor to its final position and check every reading, alert, and automation the household needs. A successful desk pairing does not prove reliable Thread coverage inside a cabinet, behind furniture, or at the far end of a basement.

The recessed rear button provides recovery without a brand app. Press it once with a small pin to reboot the sensor. Hold it for ten seconds to erase the commissioning state, which removes the device from the platform and requires a fresh pairing.

Choose it for a screenless indoor job

Aqara Climate Sensor W100 costs slightly more but adds an on-device temperature and humidity display, so it is the clearer choice when someone needs to read the room without opening an app. Eve Weather is designed for local outdoor conditions and is the more appropriate option when the mounting point cannot stay dry indoors.

Choose arre when the lower price, small body, replaceable CR2032, and third pressure reading fit a specific indoor routine. Start with one. If the intended platform exposes the right values and the final placement stays connected, the same sensor can then make sense in another room.
