Power tracking adds interest, but separate switching should be the reason to choose the two outlets. The available information does not establish separate energy totals for each socket, so this is not a dependable substitute for buying two individual meters.
The price works best in an existing Thread home
TOFSMYGGA uses Matter over Thread for app control. If suitable Thread hardware and coverage already reach the patio, the purchase can stay close to the cost of the plug. Direct control with an IKEA remote or motion sensor is another option for a simpler lighting job.
If the outdoor position has Wi-Fi coverage but no useful Thread connection, Tapo P400M is a more practical comparison. It offers the same basic two-zone switching job over Wi-Fi. The cheaper IKEA sticker price loses some of its appeal if making it work requires additional network equipment.
Outdoor does not mean install it anywhere
