Tapo TP15

A useful plug at an unhelpful price

TP15 has a straightforward role: make an ordinary US lamp or decoration respond to a schedule, remote command or Auto-Off timer. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without a Tapo bridge. There is nothing wrong with buying a basic switch when that is all the job needs.

The difficulty is the checked $23.99 Best Buy two-pack. Tapo's P110M two-pack was the same price and adds energy monitoring. TP15's advertised feature set stops at switching and timers, so a buyer who needs two plugs has a concrete reason to choose the metering model instead.

The smaller body is its best argument

TP15 measures 60 × 38 × 33 mm, the same stated dimensions as P125M. It is 7 mm shallower and 6 mm narrower than the US P110M. Beside another adapter or behind furniture, that difference can be more useful than a meter you never intend to open.

It does not guarantee that every neighboring socket stays clear, and it is not a compactness advantage over P125M. If you only need one lamp switch, the checked $11.99 P125M single keeps the total purchase smaller. TP15 needs either a better offer or a specific reason to buy its pack.

Buy the bargain, not the extra model name

For a bedside lamp with its own physical switch left on, basic outlet control can already deliver the convenience you wanted. It cannot add dimming to the lamp. For comparing an appliance's consumption or using power readings in an automation, choose a model that actually advertises those measurements.

This is a dry indoor US plug. Its 15 A/1800 W maximum covers general or resistive loads, with lower limits for motors and incandescent lighting. Within that scope, a discounted TP15 can be a sensible purchase. At the checked two-pack price, P110M offers more, and a single P125M makes more sense when one plug is enough.
