Tapo has added the RV50 Omni to its UK store, with shipping listed from July 30, 2026. T3 reported the new model on July 8 as a cheaper alternative to the RV50 Pro Omni. Tapo's store showed a £319.99 introductory price, down from £499.99, when Matterhome checked on July 11, although the listing was marked sold out. The compatibility detail is easy to miss: Tapo's published list of Matter-supported robot vacuums does not include the RV50 Omni.
The RV50 Omni is still a substantial cleaner. Tapo lists 12,000Pa suction, LiDAR navigation, spinning mop pads, automatic mop removal, dust emptying, mop washing, and warm-air drying. The UK listing also names Alexa and Google Home voice control. Those integrations do not establish Matter support. Tapo's Matter FAQ separately names the RV50 Pro Omni, RV30 Max models, and RV20 Max models as currently supporting Matter, and says more models are planned. The new RV50 Omni is not on that list.
The similar names make the Pro suffix important. Tapo's UK page for the RV50 Pro Omni displays a Matter logo and says Matter is available through an over-the-air update. Tapo's support table lists Apple Home, Alexa, and SmartThings support for its Matter robot vacuums, while Google Home is still marked unsupported through Matter. The Pro also raises suction to 15,000Pa and adds extending edge mopping and hot-water mop washing.
At the prices checked on July 11, the Pro cost £80 more than the non-Pro model, but both store listings were sold out. Buy the RV50 Omni only if Tapo app control and its listed Alexa or Google Home links cover the job. If the vacuum needs to join Apple Home, Alexa, or SmartThings through Matter, wait for RV50 Pro Omni stock and confirm that the current firmware exposes a Matter setup code before ordering. Tapo has not announced a Matter update or date for the cheaper RV50 Omni, and Matterhome has not tested either model.
