WAGO Home Blind Control (2757-1106)

A hidden shade controller succeeds or fails at the handoff. The electrician needs a safe, repeatable way to wire and calibrate it, while the homeowner needs working wall controls and a Matter code that joins the chosen smart-home platform. WAGO's Home Blind Control 2757-1106 is designed around that split.

The compact module sits behind a switch, controls a compatible blind, roller shutter, or awning motor, and connects directly over Matter and Thread. Its local inputs keep controlling the motor when the smart-home network is unavailable. Matterhome has not tested the controller or its integrations.

One module covers several kinds of shade

WAGO rates the two interlocked relay outputs for reversible motors drawing no more than 3 A. The product manual permits slatted blinds, roller shutters, and fabric shades, provided the motor has its own end-position switches. The module is 46 x 46 x 22 mm and runs from 200-240 V AC.

That flexibility is useful, but it does not remove the electrical survey. A qualified electrician must confirm the motor, current, direction wiring, local switch or button inputs, and usable space inside the flush-mounted box. WAGO rates the bare module IP00, so it depends on the protected installation around it.

The local controls are more than spare inputs for automations. WAGO ships the module with a logical bridge between its inputs and outputs. A button press can therefore move or stop the shade directly, even during a network failure. The bridge can be disabled in the WAGO Home Setup App when the inputs should act only as Matter events, but keeping the default behavior gives the wall control a useful fallback.

The electrician owns the first half of setup

WAGO's project workflow is the most distinctive part of this controller. An electrician can prepare devices, set blind travel times, and hand the project to the homeowner through the WAGO Home Setup App. That avoids asking the homeowner to expose a newly wired module just to find its QR code.

There are still two Matter codes on the hardware: a QR code on the front and the same code in plain text on the rear. Record the code before the wall switch goes back on. For normal commissioning, a Matter controller and Thread border router must be on the same network segment. The WAGO app is optional for a basic one-device Matter setup, but the manual says some properties are available only there and recommends it for multiple products.

The final mechanical step is a full reference run. It records the travel time needed to position the shade and can be started from the WAGO app, the connected buttons, or Matter. The path must remain unobstructed from one end position to the other. WAGO rejects a new reference time when it differs from the saved time by more than 10 percent or when movement or power is interrupted.

Matter makes control portable, not identical

The latest CSA certificate identifies the exact controller as product ID 0x1106, firmware 2.1.0, hardware 1.0, and a Matter 1.2 Window Covering device over Thread. WAGO does not require a separate brand hub.

The manual names Apple HomeKit and Google Home as commissioning examples. WAGO's broader product language says the module works with common modern smart-home platforms, but it does not show an exact table for position, stop commands, local-button state, scenes, routines, or firmware updates in each one. Alexa, SmartThings, and Home Assistant therefore remain verification jobs rather than promises in this guide.

Firmware deserves its own check. WAGO uses Matter's over-the-air update process, but notes that some ecosystems do not yet provide the required standards-based path. Its documented fallbacks are adding the device to the WAGO Home Setup App on Android or to Apple Home on iOS and iPadOS through Matter multi-admin. Include update status in the one-device trial rather than assuming the primary platform handles it.

Test the handoff before repeating it

WAGO says its first Home Automation modules became available through electrical wholesalers and its own sales channels in May 2026. On September 6, 2026, Watt24 listed the exact 2757-1106 at €61.49 with immediate German stock. That is a useful current price signal, not a guarantee for every European market.

The WAREMA Xeenos Go blind actuator is the closer specialist alternative for a venetian blind project, while Eve Shutter Switch replaces the visible wall control instead of hiding behind it. WAGO's appeal is broader shade-motor coverage, compact depth, retained local inputs, and an installer-oriented handoff at a lower current German price.

Start with one window. Have the electrician record the Matter code, finish the wiring, confirm both directions and end positions, and complete the reference run. Then test local control, app position, automations, Thread recovery, and the firmware path in the homeowner's actual ecosystem. Only repeat the design after both halves of that handoff work.
