Buy the fabric and fit first

Eve Blinds Collection makes the most sense during a room refresh, when you need a window covering as well as automation. You choose the dimensions, fabric, bracket or cassette finish and motor side. The result is a complete roller blind with the motor inside, rather than another box added beside the window.

The restrained neutral colours suit rooms where the shade should recede into the background. Light-filtering fabric is the useful choice for softening daylight while keeping the room bright; blackout fabric is more appropriate when blocking light is the priority. Eve also offers fabric with a metallic backing for solar control. We would choose from physical samples in the actual room before placing a custom order.

Blackout fabric does not guarantee a completely dark bedroom. The fabric is narrower than the blind's end-to-end hardware width, and an inside mount leaves edge gaps. A nursery or shift worker's bedroom needs attention to coverage around the opening, not just the word “blackout” in the fabric picker.

What one realistic configuration costs

On September 9, 2026, Eve's US configurator quoted $687.27 for this example: a 36 × 60-inch inside-mount blind, light-filtering Snow fabric, small white brackets and a left-side motor. It displayed free US shipping. This is a specified example, not a universal starting price or a quote for your window.

That price makes the existing shade worth a second look. Eve's MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit can preserve suitable fabric and hardware, with the US large-tube motor listed at $219.95. The kit does not include a new shade and does not fit every tube, so it is a cheaper route only when the existing blind is a good candidate.

The custom collection is currently shipped only within Germany and the US. Eve requires buyers to acknowledge that the custom order is non-returnable, non-exchangeable and non-refundable. Getting the dimensions and fabric right is part of the purchase, not something to sort out after delivery. A local made-to-measure supplier is worth comparing if you want someone else responsible for measuring and fitting.

A clean installation still needs a charging plan

Exposed brackets keep the hardware simple; an aluminium cassette hides the roll more fully but takes up space above the window. Check the largest window first if several blinds should have matching hardware sizes. Also leave clearance for handles and inward-opening windows.

The motor side determines where both the pull control and USB-C charging port sit. Choose a side you can reach with a cable. Eve includes the mounting brackets, but not the charging cable or the screws and plugs needed for your particular surface.

The integrated battery is non-replaceable. That is a meaningful weakness for an expensive custom furnishing, and a reason to ask the seller about future motor service before committing to a whole room. The pull cord is a local motor control, not a mechanical backup for a flat battery; keep it out of young children's reach.

Best when the automation has a daily job

Stored schedules and Adaptive Shading through Eve's iPhone/iPad app give Apple Home users the strongest reason to choose this collection. The blind can follow a routine or respond to the sun's position without an Eve account or subscription. Other Matter platforms can provide their own automations through a compatible controller and Thread border router.

Buy it when the fabric, fit and recurring shading routine justify the whole package. If your current blind already looks right, start with the retrofit comparison before spending on a complete replacement.
