Pay to keep the wall controls

WAGO's Wi-Fi blind controller makes sense when an existing motorized shade already has the right wall buttons and replacing those controls would spoil a matching switch range. The module hides in the wall box and keeps the physical controls useful. Its default local link between the inputs and outputs also means the blind can still move when the smart-home network is unavailable.

At the September 23 price check, article 2757-1105 was in stock at €50.05 including German VAT, plus €4.70 shipping for one. That is also the checked price of WAGO's Thread version. The decision is therefore about the radio already in the home, not a cheaper Wi-Fi model. Neither price includes the electrician, extra wiring or a deeper wall box if the 46 × 46 × 22 mm module and its conductors do not fit.

The controller is for a 200–240 V blind, roller-shutter or awning motor drawing no more than 3 A. The motor or shade also needs end-position switches. This is not a motor for a manual blind, and mains installation belongs with a qualified electrician.

Wi-Fi is the convenience version

The exact 2757-1105 model uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Matter. It needs a Matter controller, but it does not need a WAGO hub or Thread border router. That makes it the more direct retrofit for a home with only one or two suitable shades and no Thread infrastructure.

Choose the otherwise similar 2757-1106 when a Thread border router is already running or several modules are part of the plan. WAGO says the Thread version can add mesh coverage and higher network availability; the Wi-Fi model does not. Adding a new 2.4 GHz client may still be the sensible trade when the alternative is buying Thread infrastructure solely for one shade.

Basic Matter commissioning does not require the WAGO app. Some input settings and fallback firmware-update routes do: WAGO documents its Home Setup app for Android and Apple Home as the iOS update route when a controller does not provide the standard process. The installer can also prepare travel settings and hand the project to the owner through Home Setup. Matterhome has not tested that handoff, radio performance or the shade controls exposed by individual home apps.

Buy 2757-1105 for a small Wi-Fi-based retrofit where retaining the wall controls matters. If Thread is already present, take the same-price Thread sibling. Eve Shutter Switch is the alternative when a finished replacement wall control is more useful than hiding the electronics behind the existing one.
