If a motorized venetian blind already works from two wall buttons, WAREMA's Xeenos Go Aktor Jalousie UP can add Matter without replacing the blind. The small receiver sits behind the local controls, drives the existing 230 V motor, and joins a Thread network directly. No WAREMA bridge is part of that path.

This guide covers article 2086281. WAREMA sells closely named Xeenos actuators for roller shutters, awnings, plug-in installations, and switching loads, so the name on the invoice matters as much as the Matter logo. Matterhome has not tested the actuator or its integrations.

The motor and wall box decide the project

The manufacturer page describes 2086281 as an in-wall receiver for reversible 230 V sun-shading products. It is the venetian blind model, meant to handle both travel and the short direction changes used to tilt slats. WAREMA's article 2086283 is the separate Xeenos Go actuator for roller shutters and awnings.

Installation is electrical work. WAREMA's installation manual requires a qualified electrician, a flush-mounted box at least 60 mm in diameter and 65 mm deep, and approved 230 V momentary buttons and wiring. The actuator is rated IP20 with a maximum 700 VA load. Multiple actuators should be at least 0.3 m apart.

Those requirements turn an apparently simple module into a measured retrofit. Confirm the motor type, current draw, load, box depth, and button wiring before ordering. If a finished wall switch rather than a hidden receiver is the goal, Eve Shutter Switch is the closer comparison.

Commissioning starts after the electrician finishes

When power is switched on, the actuator accepts Matter commissioning for 15 minutes. Add it from a compatible Matter controller with a Thread border router. The manual does not require a WAREMA app or hub, and the product page says every powered Xeenos actuator extends the Thread mesh.

The mechanical setup still needs attention. WAREMA tells the installer to run three complete trips with the local buttons so the actuator can learn the blind's travel time from motor current. The function cannot be disabled, the default travel time is 90 seconds, and the motor must draw more than 200 mA. A power reset starts the learning process again.

Test the local up and down buttons, both end positions, and slat movement before treating app control as finished. A correct Matter tile cannot compensate for reversed wiring, a motor that binds, or a travel time learned from incomplete movement.

Four ecosystem logos, no feature matrix

WAREMA lists Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings for app and voice control, scenes, and automations. It does not publish a table showing the exact position, slat-angle, status, and routine controls in each platform. Home Assistant is not named for this product.

That missing detail matters more for a venetian blind than for a simple on-off load. Raising the blind, setting an intermediate height, and adjusting the slats are different actions. Pair one actuator first and verify every action the household expects, including voice commands and state after manual button use, before repeating the installation across a room.

CSA's current certificate covers firmware 2054970_101_XXX, hardware 9353/2V0, Matter 1.4 over Thread, product ID 0x0001, and the Window Covering device type. It was issued on August 20, 2026. Certification confirms the protocol identity, not platform feature parity or fit with a particular motor.

Buy one before planning the whole facade

The confirmed purchase path is German. One specialist retailer currently lists the exact article at €119.90 against a €173.10 MSRP, with a 2-5 working-day delivery estimate. Treat that as a current German price and stock signal, not a promise for every European market.

Choose 2086281 when a compatible 230 V venetian blind motor already exists, keeping the local buttons matters, and the Thread border router is ready. Skip it for a roller shutter, a shallow wall box, an unverified motor, or a project that cannot use a licensed electrician.

For a multi-window retrofit, the sensible sequence is one electrical survey, one actuator, and one complete platform test. Scale only after the local buttons, full travel, slat control, automations, and Thread recovery all behave as expected.
