A little more information from an ordinary circuit

Relay Switch 1PM is worth considering when you want to know how much a wired lighting or equipment circuit uses, as well as turn it on and off. A relay being on does not necessarily mean the connected appliance is drawing power. The meter supplies that extra context.

SwitchBot's app shows power, current, voltage, consumption and time spent on, with daily and monthly summaries. That is more useful than a generic promise of energy savings: you can inspect an actual circuit's usage and decide whether its schedule is wasteful. The readings do not automatically reduce a bill or diagnose an appliance fault.

The meter is inexpensive, but the output matters

At the checked single-unit prices, 1PM costs only $1 more than Relay Switch 1 in the US, or €2/£2 more in the EU/UK before codes. For a new, suitable mains installation, that is a modest premium for consumption information and overload cutoff.

This is not simply Relay Switch 1 with an extra sensor. The 1PM switches a powered output, whereas Relay Switch 1 provides a dry contact. A controller expecting an isolated contact closure needs the latter type. Paying slightly more for metering would buy the wrong hardware for that job.

The 1PM supports 24–30 V DC power as well as 100–240 V AC, but DC operation does not provide metering. It also cannot dim lights. Choose it for switching and measuring an appropriate AC load, not for every project that happens to involve electricity.

Keep the familiar switch, use the app for detail

Its 42 × 36 × 16 mm body can sit behind a suitable existing wall control. The switch-input options include ordinary toggle, momentary and edge behavior. That lets the physical control remain useful while schedules and remote commands add convenience.

Mains installation needs a neutral, an appropriate enclosure and enough room for wiring. The quoted maximum is 16 A AC, subject to the actual load and installation; overload and temperature protection do not remove the need for proper circuit protection. Budget for the electrician as well as the module. For a plug-in lamp or appliance, a suitable metering smart plug avoids opening the wall.

The relay joins Matter over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without an extra SwitchBot hub. SwitchBot documents it as a switch in Apple Home; its detailed consumption history is a SwitchBot-app feature in the evidence checked here. Do not make a purchase dependent on those graphs appearing unchanged in another Matter app.

Home Assistant offers another useful meter path: its native SwitchBot Bluetooth integration supplies power, voltage, current and consumption for 1PM. It needs working Bluetooth within range and this encrypted device's credentials, supplied directly or imported from a SwitchBot account. That is a separate connection from Matter, with no promise of importing SwitchBot's historical graphs.

There is also a useful small-home bonus: up to ten supported Bluetooth accessories can use its SwitchBot gateway, with up to two supported accessories shared through Matter. Existing hub owners may gain little from that extra role.

One 1PM was available on September 10, 2026 at $16.99 US, €21.99 EU and £21.99 UK. The stores advertised JZJZ15 prices of $14.44, €18.69 and £18.69. Add the regional $9.99/€9.99/£9.99 delivery charge for eligible orders below $99, €99 or £99 respectively: one discounted module comes to $24.43, €28.68 or £28.68 before installation and any additional applicable tax.

For two appropriate circuits in the same location, Relay Switch 2PM puts two outputs in one body, with different per-channel limits. For local browser settings and scripting, compare Shelly 1PM Gen3. SwitchBot's strongest case is a modest new retrofit where you will actually use its app and nearby accessories. A working metering relay needs no replacement merely to match that brand.
