Two lights, two familiar switches
The appeal of WAGO's 2757-1110 is a dining room with separate ceiling and wall lights that still need to work from their existing switches. This in-wall module gives each circuit its own output and local input. Out of the box, each input is linked to its corresponding output, so the physical controls continue switching the lights if the smart-home network goes down. An electrician can unlink those inputs in WAGO's app when the wall buttons are better used for other Matter actions.
That makes it a reasonable part of a larger Thread-based renovation, especially if the installer is setting up several WAGO modules and handing the project to the owner. A Matter controller and Thread border router are required, but a WAGO hub is not. The brand app is optional for basic pairing, not for every adjustment. WAGO describes single, double and long-press input events, although the exact actions visible in a particular home app have not been established for this model. Buy it for the two wired circuits and the local fallback, not an assumed set of extra scene buttons.
The small-load limits matter more than the Matter logo
The 6 A rating applies to both outputs together, not 6 A for each light. WAGO also specifies a 30 W LED load limit. Two modest fixtures may fit, but a long run of downlights or a large LED fitting may not. The 46 × 46 × 22 mm module needs space for the conductors inside a suitable enclosure, 200–240 V supply and installation by a qualified electrician. It is neither a dimmer nor a substitute for checking the actual loads and wiring.
At the September 22 price check, the exact Thread module was in stock at €50.05 including German VAT, plus €4.70 shipping for one. Shelly 2PM Gen4 was €29.90 before shipping. Shelly also switches two channels, adds metering and allows 10 A per channel with 16 A combined on AC, but its Matter path is Wi-Fi rather than Thread. Neither price includes installation. The cheaper relay is the stronger starting point when Wi-Fi suits the home and the electrician confirms the circuit; WAGO's premium pays for this particular Thread path and WAGO's project handoff, not a higher load rating.
Choose the 2757-1110 for two suitable light circuits in an existing Thread installation where retained wall controls and a coordinated WAGO handover have value. For a single high-load circuit, a two-channel 6 A module is the wrong WAGO variant; for most isolated two-circuit retrofits, Shelly gives more electrical headroom for less money. Matterhome has not tested the relay or its behavior in individual home apps.
