IFA 2026 finished its second Media Day on September 3, 2026, with a local AI hub advertised to connect Matter products, Matter-over-Thread lights, a bridged Matter lock, connected appliances, home-energy systems and more cleaning robots than most buyers could reasonably compare. The public exhibition at Messe Berlin does not open until September 4, so this is a point-in-time inventory, not a final show report.
This roundup covers announcements verified by 10:45 p.m. CEST on September 3. "Everything" here means the Matterhome beat: smart-home platforms, connected household appliances, home energy, domestic cleaning and garden robots. It does not include the show's televisions, computers, phones, wearables, audio gear, beauty devices or vehicles. Products announced for an IFA booth but not yet demonstrated are identified as pre-show announcements, while products revealed before IFA are not relabeled as September launches.
Matter and Thread have a small but meaningful showing
Only a handful of the first two days' announcements establish a new Matter path. Several companies use "AI home" or "connected ecosystem" language without documenting Matter support. Those claims are not interchangeable.

Bosch also presented its Radiator Thermostat II [+M] while showing tighter integration between Bosch and Buderus heat pumps and Bosch Smart Home thermostats. The thermostat can operate as a direct Matter-over-Thread device or in Zigbee mode. That does not make the heat pump itself a Matter device. The installer-focused PRO version is due in September 2026, while Bosch's Home+ energy optimization remains a €4.99-per-month service. Eyes+ person recognition will cost another €2.99 per month for Bosch indoor and outdoor cameras. Bosch's English and German releases disagree on whether it starts in October or November. Bosch says the setup images are deleted after an encrypted profile is created, apart from one app display image.
Three familiar Matter stories are at IFA without becoming new launches. TCL's D2 Pro Matter lock went on sale in the US on August 17 for $199.99, before the show; our D2 Pro preview has the compatibility details. ThirdReality announced its four-product Matter-over-Thread range in August and has still not published model numbers, prices or exact dates; see our ThirdReality lineup report. Its planned booth also includes the Zigbee-to-Matter Smart Bridge MZ1, Linux Box Dev Edition, Smart Speaker, Smart Hub Gen3 and AI Hub. Aqara's U600 UK lock, G510 camera hub, M410 doorbell, FP400 sensor and Edge Hub M300 were also previewed before Media Days. All of those public-booth displays start September 4.
Lighting, security, platforms and energy
The broader smart-home story is mostly about local processing and cross-brand orchestration. That can be useful, but it is not evidence that every connected product will work through Matter.

Appliance makers concentrated on energy use, automated cycles and app control. None of the new large appliances below was announced as a Matter appliance.

Robot vacuums, floor care, pools and lawns
IFA's most crowded category is autonomous cleaning. Matter 1.2 added a robot-vacuum device type, but that standard milestone does not mean a robot supports Matter. None of the checked IFA releases below announces Matter support for the named model.

The adjacent Dyson Unveiled event in Berlin on September 3 introduced R1 Nurovi Dry, R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry and R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV robots, plus the W1 PencilWash floor cleaner and HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air purifier. Dyson itself describes Unveiled as a separate annual event held in the same month as IFA, so those products are not counted as IFA presentations here.
What has not happened yet
Several preview releases describe products as "at IFA" even though their first public showing is September 4. Zendure, Ecovacs, DJI, Mammotion and Navimow are included above because their product announcements were public by the cutoff, but their booth demonstrations had not started. Sensereo has previewed Airo air-quality sensor pods with Matter over Thread and a dock with a Thread border router, but its premiere is scheduled for the public show and pricing, certification and shipping status remain unclear. SONOFF has teased unnamed Zigbee and Thread sensors without enough detail to establish Matter support.
MOVA's launch is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on September 4. Sponsored coverage names Tineco's Floor One S11 Artist Fusion Steam, S9 Artist Boost Steam and Pure One Station 7 ZeroTouch, but a first-party launch release was not available by the cutoff. Reolink has previewed OMVI 2i Ultra and Home Hub 2 for booth demonstrations without publishing the full release. Dreo, EcoFlow, Bluetti, Sunseeker and xLean also have public-booth reveals or fuller product briefings still to come, so a teaser is not treated as a completed launch. The Open Home Foundation and Home Assistant booth also opens September 4 with no IFA product announcement published by this cutoff.
That timing matters for buyers. tado's second-generation thermostat family is already on sale at selected European retailers, SwitchBot has opened lock-bundle preorders, and Govee's first three IFA lights go on sale September 4. TCL's D2 Pro is also on sale, but predates IFA. Shelly has announced its Wall Display update without a regional schedule, while Aqara's lights, Shelly ThreadLink and Anker MindBase still need firmer model, price or availability information. Across the wider show, many of the most ambitious appliance, energy and robot announcements are 2027 products or concepts rather than things available now.
Treat this as the September 3 inventory. Any later update should keep shipping status and Matter details separate from booth demonstrations and company promises.
