Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Lucca Outdoor Wall Light

The 2026 Lucca wall light is a sensible Hue porch or patio fixture when a Hue Bridge already belongs in the plan. Its replaceable E27 format and color light are useful, but this guide relies on the documented Bridge path because the exact fixture page does not confirm a direct Matter setup code.

A porch light is a poor place for an ambiguous model number. Philips Hue sells an older warm-white Lucca wall light and this 2026 White and Color Ambiance version under almost the same name. The current color model is EAN 8721103118639, includes a 1,100-lumen A60 E27 bulb, and costs EUR99.99 or GBP89.99 on the regional Hue stores checked for this guide.

The Bridge is part of the setup

Lucca is documented as a Zigbee light in a mains-powered outdoor fixture. Add it to a Hue Bridge or Bridge Pro in the Hue app, update the system, and then share the Bridge with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, or another Matter controller. No Thread border router is required for that route.

Launch coverage identifies the included 1,100-lumen bulb as Matter-over-Thread compatible, and Hue's general support guide allows direct setup for Matter-enabled bulbs whose packaging includes a Matter logo and code. The exact Lucca page, however, lists only Bluetooth and Zigbee and does not confirm a code in the fixture pack. This guide therefore does not assume direct pairing: if the package in hand includes that code, follow its direct-setup instructions and provide a Thread border router. Otherwise, use the documented Bridge path.

With the Bridge route, the individual light remains in Hue and the Bridge presents its supported controls to the other ecosystem. That arrangement is useful when Hue scenes, effects, firmware, and accessories matter, but those Hue-specific features do not all become Matter controls.

Fit the wall before choosing the ecosystem

The anthracite aluminium fixture measures 215 by 170 by 115 mm and uses 220 to 240 V mains power. Philips Hue supplies wall plugs and screws, but the circuit, cable entry, mounting surface, and local electrical rules still decide whether this is a sensible installation. Use a qualified installer where required.

IP44 means protection against splashing water, not freedom to mount the light anywhere outdoors. Avoid a position that needs stronger weather protection, and check that the Hue Bridge's Zigbee network reaches through the exterior wall before repeating the fixture around the property.

Buy the color version deliberately

The older Lucca wall light, EAN 8718696166048, is an 806-lumen warm-white model. It can still sit behind a Matter-enabled Hue Bridge, but it is not the same lighting purchase. The 2026 model adds tunable white and color light while keeping the replaceable E27 format.

Buy this version when the fixture design suits the wall and a Hue Bridge will already manage the outdoor lights. Skip it when the goal is direct Matter, a low-voltage garden system, or a location where IP44 is not enough.

Best for

  • Porches, patios, and garden walls in a Hue-centered outdoor lighting plan
  • European and UK buyers who want the current 1,100-lumen color Lucca
  • Homes that want Hue scenes plus basic light control in another Matter ecosystem

Skip if

  • You want a light that pairs directly over Matter without a brand hub
  • The installation point needs more weather protection than IP44 provides
  • You cannot provide a safe 220 to 240 V wall-light circuit
