SwitchBot Candle Warmer Lamp

A useful small luxury for someone who already enjoys jar candles and wants fragrance without lighting a wick. The wired timer and dimmer are as valuable as the app. Its fixed candle clearance and linked heat/brightness are the reasons to pass; keep an existing warmer if its ordinary controls already do the job.

What we like

  • Enjoy a jar candle’s fragrance without lighting its wick
  • Wired brightness and timer controls work without reaching for a phone
  • Two replaceable GU10 halogen bulbs are included
  • Direct Matter makes it easier to include the warmer in room controls

What could be better

  • Fixed 9.5 cm candle width and 14 cm clearance exclude larger jars
  • Brightness also changes heating; light and fragrance are not independent
  • Candles remain an extra purchase and need occasional wax removal
  • EU standard white offer is a mid-September preorder

A good idea for a candle you already enjoy

SwitchBot's Candle Warmer Lamp is appealing when you like a scented jar candle but would rather warm the wax than light its wick. A halogen bulb melts it from above while the shade casts a warm pool of light. The result is a small fragrance appliance with useful controls, rather than a compelling replacement for an ordinary table lamp.

The simple curved arm and round base leave the candle visible. That is part of the appeal on a side table, but the jar pictured with the product is not included. Buy it around a candle you know you like; the warmer does not supply a fragrance or make an unsuitable scent more pleasant.

The wired controls are more useful than they sound

The controller on the cable has power, brightness and timer buttons. It offers ten brightness levels and two-, four- or eight-hour timers. An evening session therefore does not require a phone, voice assistant or home automation.

SwitchBot's app adds finer dimming and schedules. Direct Matter over Wi-Fi also lets the warmer join a shared home without a separate SwitchBot hub, including direct Apple Home pairing. Turning it off with the room's other devices is a sensible convenience.

The compromise is that this is one bulb doing two jobs. Turning up brightness also increases heating, so fragrance intensity and ambient light are not independent controls. It is a poor bedside purchase if you want a dark room and strong warming at the same time. The shade and bulb get hot, even without a flame; place it where people or pets cannot knock it over or brush against it.

Measure the jar before choosing the lamp

The base accepts candles up to 9.5 cm across, with 14 cm from the table to the shade. Those fixed dimensions are the main reason a favorite large jar might not work. The manual calls for candles in containers, rather than freestanding pillars that could spill wax onto the base.

There is no height adjustment to bring the bulb closer as the wax level falls. If that flexibility matters more than app control, compare the US Candle Warmers Etc. Silver Hobnail lamp, which offers an adjustable stem and wired timer/dimmer.

The bulb is replaceable; the candle still needs attention

Two GU10 halogen bulbs come in the box, giving you one spare. SwitchBot specifies a 50 W halogen replacement, so a normal GU10 LED is not an equivalent substitute for the heating job. Choose the lamp and replacement bulb rated for your region's mains supply.

Warming does not make the candle last indefinitely. When fragrance weakens, the manual calls for removing some melted surface wax to expose fresher material. Eventually the candle needs replacing. That is a small maintenance job, but one worth knowing before treating this as a refill-free alternative to a diffuser.

Worth buying for fragrance and convenient control

On September 10, 2026, the standard white version listed at $39.99 US, €39.99 EU and £39.99 UK. Each store advertised JZJZ20 at $31.99, €31.99 or £31.99. Eligible orders below $99/€99/£99 add 9.99 in the local currency for delivery, bringing one discounted lamp to $41.98, €41.98 or £41.98 before the candle and any additional applicable tax.

The US and UK white versions were available to order; the EU white version was a preorder expected to ship in mid-September. A gift needed immediately should not rely on that estimate.

Choose SwitchBot for a jar that fits and a warmer you want alongside the room's other controls. Keep an existing timer-equipped warmer if it already delivers the fragrance and convenience you want. The smart connection is useful, but it does not improve the candle itself.
