UGREEN delays HomeAgent's Kickstarter to April 2027, and HA100 still needs another hub for Thread

UGREEN has postponed HomeAgent a second time. As of October 24, 2026, its US campaign page puts the Kickstarter launch on April 13, 2027 instead of November 17, 2026, keeps deposits open until April 12 and starts shipping in late June 2027. In a statement reported by matter-smarthome.de on October 22, UGREEN said it needs more development and testing, with the focus on compatibility with Matter and other smart home protocols, its AI features and testing across the whole product range. According to the same statement, benefits and promotional offers already promised stay unchanged. Prices are the same, and the $50 or $200 deposit can still be refunded at any time before the Kickstarter campaign ends.

UGREEN told matter-smarthome.de that its website would be updated, and on October 24 its pages had only partly caught up. The US page's FAQ still gives the November plan's per-product dates: late February 2027 for the HA100, late April for the HA100 Pro and late July for the MasterAgent MA100. The HA100 date cannot hold, because the same FAQ says fulfillment begins after the Kickstarter campaign ends. Treat the timeline's late June 2027 as the earliest date for any model; UGREEN says products will ship in phases. The UK and German campaign pages still show the November 17 launch and shipping from late February 2027.

On October 16, 2026, the Connectivity Standards Alliance certified the HomeAgent HA100 as a Matter 1.4 controller and the SynCare ID500 Pro indoor camera as a Matter 1.5.1 camera. The test declarations filed with the certificate give HA100 Ethernet for Matter control and Bluetooth LE for setting up new devices, with no Thread or Wi-Fi interface, so Thread locks, sensors and blinds would depend on a border router from another brand. UGREEN has not said what the Matter compatibility work involves, so the HA100 certificate remains the most specific Matter information available.

What the HA100 certificate covers

The HA100 is certified as a commissioner and controller, so it can add Matter devices itself instead of only controlling devices paired elsewhere. It accepts a QR code or an 11- or 21-digit pairing code and finds new devices over Bluetooth LE or the home network. A pairing code is also what another platform produces when it shares a device through Matter multi-admin.

Thread is the gap. UGREEN's certificate listing says its app "works in conjunction with your home router to handle both Thread and Wi-Fi device connections", but the certificate declares no Thread interface on HA100 itself. Its commissioner can hand Thread network credentials to a new device, so HA100 could add Thread devices directly if the UGREEN app can borrow another brand's Thread network credentials. UGREEN has not said which border routers that works with. Multi-admin is the dependable route today: pair the Thread device with a platform that already runs a Thread border router, such as an Apple or Google home hub with Thread, then share it to HA100 with a pairing code. A home with no Thread border router needs to buy one before any Thread device can join HomeAgent.

The device coverage is also narrower than the listing's own description. The declarations cover lights, on/off plugs and switches, door locks, thermostats, fans, blinds and other window coverings, occupancy sensors and humidity sensors, plus scenes and groups. Smoke detectors and temperature sensors appear in the description but not in the declarations, and contact sensors appear in neither. Cameras joined Matter in version 1.5, after the 1.4 specification HA100 was certified against, so the certificate cannot show whether HA100 will display another brand's Matter camera. HA100 declares no bridge role, so UGREEN devices without their own Matter certificate, such as the OD600 Pro and OD800 Pro outdoor cameras, have no certified route through it into Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa. Matter devices paired to HA100 can still be shared with those platforms, because its certificate covers opening a pairing window on the devices it controls. The HA100 Pro and MasterAgent MA100 had no Matter certificate on October 20, 2026.

Where a Matter camera can go today

The ID500 Pro has two certificates, both for the 64 GB model and both on Wi-Fi. Its certified Matter features include live video and audio over WebRTC, a push transport for sending recordings to another device or service, two-way audio, a privacy mode, night vision, HDR, pan, tilt and zoom controls with saved presets, and user-drawn detection zones. The outdoor OD600 Pro and OD800 Pro had no Matter listing on October 20.

Samsung announced SmartThings support for Matter cameras on December 18, 2025, covering live streaming, clip storage, two-way talk, motion detection, event history and privacy zones through the Aeotec Smart Home Hub 2, Aeotec Smart Home Hub, SmartThings Hub 2018 and ThingsOne hub. Google's Matter device-type table (updated October 8, 2026), Amazon's Matter support page (updated May 1, 2026) and Apple's Matter accessory page (published May 7, 2026) list no camera type. That leaves SmartThings as the only one of the four with a documented Matter camera path, and UGREEN has not said whether it has tested the ID500 Pro there.

SmartThings owners who want only the camera cannot buy it on its own yet. During the campaign, the ID500 Pro is available only as an $89 add-on to a HomeAgent pledge, listed against $149. UGREEN's offer terms still give one free to HA100 and HA100 Pro backers who deposit by 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on November 16, 2026 and complete a Kickstarter pledge. UGREEN has not given a standalone retail date.

Same prices, a later campaign

When Matterhome first reported the campaign, the HA100 was $899 and the HA100 Pro $2,999, against suggested retail prices of $1,799 and $5,999, with reservations closing October 26. Archived copies of UGREEN's page show the cut landed between September 30 and October 7, along with the first postponement from October 27 to November 17. The pledge is riskier than the deposit: UGREEN does not accept returns of crowdfunding rewards without valid cause, except where local law requires it, and it says delivery dates, features and specifications may change with manufacturing, testing and certification. The campaign ships to the US (excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories), Canada, the UK, the EU except Ireland and Lithuania, Australia and Singapore.

HomeAgent stays news-only in Matterhome's database because nothing ships before late June 2027. On paper, the HA100 is a credible local controller for Wi-Fi and Ethernet devices in the categories it declares, and for Thread devices only where another brand's border router already runs the Thread network. If you were counting on the HA100 as your Matter controller in early 2027, it now ships no earlier than late June 2027, so choose a platform you can buy today. A deposit costs nothing to keep except the use of the money until the campaign ends, and the free ID500 Pro still depends on depositing by November 16, 2026 unless UGREEN moves that deadline too. The real commitment is still the Kickstarter pledge: make it only if the storage and local AI features justify the crowdfunding risk on their own. Before April 13, look for a published HomeAgent device list, an answer on whether the UGREEN app can add Thread devices through another brand's border router, Matter certificates covering the HA100 Pro and MA100, and per-product shipping dates that match the new timeline.
