UGREEN's September 4, 2026 announcement puts Matter control inside a family of local-AI hubs that also store files and security footage. The company says it first unveiled HomeAgent at a September 1 event, then brought the ecosystem to IFA in Berlin. Reservations are open, but this is not a verified Matter-controller purchase. The least expensive HomeAgent HA100 carries an $899 Super Early Bird price, requires a $50 deposit before a Kickstarter pledge, and is not scheduled to begin shipping until late January 2027.
The company says HomeAgent can bring compatible Matter devices together for local control, custom scenes, and voice commands through its Uliya assistant. It also says core storage, security, file-management, and smart-home functions can operate on the local network without a monthly storage fee. Remote access, account authentication, mobile notifications, updates, and optional cloud features may still need an internet connection.

Those are crowdfunding prices, not ordinary retail prices. UGREEN lists suggested retail prices of $1,799, $5,999, and $19,999 respectively. The reservation period runs through October 26, with the Kickstarter campaign due to open October 27. UGREEN says deposits can be refunded before the campaign ends, while the eventual crowdfunding rewards are not normal retail purchases and may change during manufacturing, certification, or software development.
The Matter claim stops before the setup path
UGREEN's announcement confirms Matter support and compatible third-party devices, but it does not identify a Matter version, controller certification, supported device types, multi-admin behavior, or partner ecosystems. It also does not say whether each HomeAgent has its own Thread border router, whether Thread accessories need separate infrastructure, or whether the hubs can commission Matter devices rather than only control devices added elsewhere.
That missing detail matters more than the broad protocol claim. A local dashboard for lights and switches is a different product from a certified controller that can add Thread locks, sensors, and blinds without another border router. The launch material also does not publish the compatibility list behind the word "compatible." Buyers should not infer Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, or Home Assistant integration from Matter support alone.
The rest of the ecosystem is similarly tied to future delivery. UGREEN names three SynCare cameras, a smart speaker, and Gallery photo frames, with several camera-analysis features requiring HomeAgent. The HA100, the PoE camera, and the indoor camera are scheduled first. Other devices follow in April or July 2027, and UGREEN warns that regional availability and final features may vary.
HomeAgent is news-only in Matterhome's database because the hardware is not shipping and the current Matter path is incomplete. Do not place a deposit for Matter control alone. Wait for UGREEN to publish the exact controller role, Thread hardware, supported device types, ecosystem sharing, and final compatibility list. The reservation only makes sense now if the local storage and AI system already justify the crowdfunding risk without those answers.
