Small enough to make sense in a small room
K11+ earns attention by taking up less room. Its 248 mm-wide robot can suit gaps between furniture that are unhelpful to a much larger cleaner, and the station measures 240 × 180 × 250 mm. In an apartment, a useful vacuum that is easier to accommodate can be worth more than another headline cleaning feature.
The current price does not help. On September 25, 2026, SwitchBot's US store listed K11+ at $399.99. The newer K11+ Pro was the same price, with the same robot and station dimensions, 12,000 Pa rather than 6,000 Pa rated peak suction, and a dual anti-tangle brush design. The older model needs a meaningful discount to make sense as a new purchase.
Small does not mean it can be tucked into any hole. SwitchBot recommends roughly 30 cm-wide passages, and the dock needs an open approach and access above its lid. Measure the intended home for both parts, including the robot while docked, rather than relying on the station's footprint alone.
The dock is the convenience worth paying for
After cleaning, K11+ returns to a station that transfers dust into a four-liter bag. That reduces the repetitive job of opening the robot's little bin after ordinary runs. For someone who would otherwise neglect a full bin, self-emptying can be more valuable than extra smart-home controls.
SwitchBot's up-to-90-day storage claim depends on how much dirt the home produces. Pets, frequent cleaning and a larger area can fill the bag sooner. The robot still needs hair removed from brushes and wheels, plus clean sensors and charging contacts. Self-emptying removes one chore, not all maintenance.
Exact K11+ replacement bags were listed at $19.99 for four, before shipping. The cheaper K10+ option on the same accessory page is a different selection. Budget for filters and brushes as they wear too; the dock's convenience comes with consumables.
A sensible vacuum, with ordinary floor preparation
Laser mapping, room preferences and no-go zones are useful for a repeatable routine. SwitchBot rates suction at 6,000 Pa and uses a rubber main brush and an anti-tangle side brush. Those are promising design choices, but a suction number does not establish how much embedded carpet dirt it collects. We have not measured its pickup, noise or navigation.
The manual still asks you to remove loose wires, slippers, socks and small objects before a run. That is the more useful expectation than the store's suggestion that no preparation is needed. If the floor is usually scattered with children's toys or pet mess, the appeal of the small body does not remove that workload.
SwitchBot gives a 1.7 cm threshold-climbing limit. A raised doorway can therefore matter more than the room's square footage: the robot cannot maintain a cleaning routine through a doorway it cannot cross.
The mop is a wipe attachment
For wet cleaning, you attach a disposable cloth to a plate that covers the vacuum brush. Vacuuming and wiping happen separately. There is no onboard water tank keeping the cloth wet, and the manual says it can dry out after 20–30 minutes. Carpeted areas need exclusion during that pass.
That can be useful for a light wipe over a small hard-floor area after vacuuming. It is a weak reason to buy the robot if scrubbing kitchen marks is the main chore you want to avoid. You still fit and remove the plate, replace the cloth and decide which floors it should touch. Keeping a normal mop alongside K11+ is a reasonable choice.
Connected control is a useful extra
K11+ joins Matter directly over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without a SwitchBot hub. Keep SwitchBot's app for the map, room preferences and maintenance settings; the value of shared controls is starting a routine more conveniently.
Home Assistant also explicitly supports K11+ through its separate Bluetooth integration, including start, return-to-base, battery and state reporting. That needs a working receiver within range. It is useful for a Home Assistant household, without implying that every map or cleaning option appears through Matter.
If frequent wet cleaning matters more than compactness, compare SwitchBot's larger S20: its roller mop and water-handling station tackle a different workload, at the cost of more space and water-system care. For compact routine vacuuming, buy K11+ Pro at today's equal price. Keep an existing K11+ if its size and bin-emptying already suit you; the newer rating and Matter badge alone do not justify replacing a working robot.
