Samsung announced a new Bespoke AI washer and dryer lineup on July 14, 2026, with the rollout due to begin in select markets during July. The connected-home path is narrower than the launch language suggests. Samsung says interconnected features on compatible Bespoke models are available through the SmartThings app only, with Wi-Fi and a Samsung account required.
The announcement covers washer model family WF90H1*C4*** and dryer family DV90H***3***. Samsung lists 24-inch, standard-depth washers with capacities from 10.5kg to 13kg and matching dryers from 9kg to 13kg, depending on the market. It does not name launch countries or prices, and the regional suffix will matter when comparing listings.
SmartThings handles the features Samsung emphasizes: cycle suggestions, post-cycle energy and water reports, estimated electricity costs, and AI Energy Mode. The machines also have a 7-inch touchscreen and Bixby voice control. Those are Samsung features, not evidence that the appliance can be commissioned into another platform through Matter.
Matter has supported laundry washers since version 1.2, including cycle-progress notifications. Matter 1.3 added dryers, with controls such as dryer mode and target temperature plus remote start and stop where local safety rules allow. That makes the omission relevant, but it does not put Matter into these Samsung models. The launch announcement does not document a Matter logo, setup code, certification, firmware path, or multi-admin support.
This lineup can still make sense for a household already comfortable using SmartThings for appliances. The skip case is a buyer who expects a washer or dryer to appear natively in Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, Home Assistant, or another Matter controller. Do not infer that path from the words "connected home" or from Samsung's broader role in Matter.
Before ordering, match the full regional model number and ask for the exact integration list. If Matter is a requirement, look for a Matter badge and a documented commissioning flow for that model rather than a general SmartThings logo. Samsung could add more integrations later, but its July 14 launch materials provide no current Matter route. Matterhome has not tested the new appliances.
