Eve now sells its European Eve Thermostat for EUR119.95. The wall control connects through Matter over Thread and is designed for water-based underfloor heating with 230 V electrothermal actuators. It is not the similarly named North American HVAC thermostat, which Eve still labels "Coming Soon."
The availability closes a delay from Eve's original schedule. The company announced the European model in December 2025 for a first-quarter 2026 release in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Its store now offers the thermostat for purchase, and Eve has published an updated European setup guide.
The thermostat can show and change the target temperature on the wall, through an app, or by voice. Eve says it works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, and Home Assistant. It is a mains-powered Full Thread Device, so it can also relay Thread traffic after joining a network. A compatible Matter controller and Thread border router are still required.
Check the heating circuit before the platform
This is a specialized controller, not a universal replacement for every wall thermostat. Eve documents support for water-based underfloor heating with low-power 230 V actuators. Its silent Triac output is rated up to 65 mA or 15 W, while its potential-free relay contacts are rated up to 5 A for resistive loads or 2 A for motor loads. Eve says the product does not generally support boilers or heat pumps.
That wiring distinction matters more than the ecosystem logo. Buyers should identify the existing actuator voltage, load, and control method before ordering, and use a qualified installer when mains wiring is outside their experience. A forced-air HVAC system, radiator valve, or ordinary low-voltage North American thermostat needs a different product.
Schedules also have a platform boundary. Eve says schedules are stored on the thermostat and keep running without a phone or internet connection. Creating them through the Eve app currently requires Apple Home on iPhone or iPad, or Google Home on Android. Eve's FAQ says schedule creation is not currently supported through Alexa or SmartThings, although routines in those platforms can provide a less portable alternative.
For a compatible European underfloor-heating zone, this is now a real direct Matter purchase rather than an announced product. For everyone else, the right move is to verify the heating circuit first or wait for the separate North American model to leave its "Coming Soon" state.
