The community Indigo Matter plugin's stable version 2026.16.0, released on August 15, 2026, lets a Matter device commissioned under Indigo open a new pairing window so it can be added to Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, or another Matter controller. Earlier versions kept an Indigo-first device on Indigo's fabric only. The update completes the other direction of multi-admin sharing for people who use Indigo as a Matter controller.
This is not the plugin's separate Matter export bridge. The existing accessory stays a native Matter device and the receiving platform becomes another administrator. Indigo does not turn the plug, sensor, lock, or thermostat into a bridged copy, and the other platform does not need to send daily commands through Indigo.
The pairing code lives in Indigo's event log
After installing version 2026.16.0, open **Plugins > Matter > Share a Matter device with another ecosystem**, choose the device and set how long its pairing window should remain open. Indigo writes the one-time pairing code to its event log. Enter that code in the receiving platform's add-accessory flow. Apple Home users can choose **Add Accessory > More options > Enter code manually**.
The window can stay open for up to 15 minutes. A code cannot be recovered after it is used or expires, but running the action again creates a fresh one. The same share command is available as an action on each Matter node, although using a schedule for a short-lived security credential deserves more care than the ordinary menu flow.
Check the fabric count before adding Apple Home. The release notes say an Apple pairing consumes two slots, one for Apple Home and another for Apple Keychain. The plugin reports the device's remaining capacity and warns when space is tight, but it does not block the attempt.
The update does not turn the Indigo Mac into a first-admin Bluetooth commissioner. The plugin's documentation says a factory-fresh Thread device still needs an iPhone through Domio or an existing Matter ecosystem to supply Thread credentials when that initial network step is required. Once Indigo owns a fabric on the device, version 2026.16.0 can open the outbound sharing window itself.
The Indigo plugin store lists version 2026.16.0 as its current download. Its installation guide requires Indigo 2025.2 or later, Node.js 22.13.0 or later, and the beta matter-server package pinned to version 1.2.2. Back up Indigo's Matter fabric, confirm those versions, and try the new share path on a non-critical accessory before moving locks, heating, or leak alerts into a second platform.
