# Homey Matter Bridge adds multi-admin pairing

Homey Matter Bridge 0.9.0 can pair another Matter platform without dropping existing connections, but every platform receives the same device list.

Homey released Matter Bridge 0.9.0 on September 24, 2026, adding a `Pairing` screen that can connect an already configured bridge to another Matter platform. [The update](https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.athom.matter-bridge/Matter-Bridge/) creates a fresh temporary QR code and numeric code for each attempt. Homey says established connections and the selected device list remain in place.

The useful change is not first-time setup. It is the documented path for adding Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, or another Matter controller without removing the bridge from the platform that already uses it. A Homey household can keep its deeper Flows in Homey while giving a second ecosystem access to the same everyday controls.

## One device list goes to every platform

After updating the Matter Bridge app, open `More → Settings → Matter Bridge` in the Homey mobile app, or open the bridge configuration in the Homey web app. The new Pairing tab can start a [five-minute commissioning window](https://github.com/athombv/com.athom.matter-bridge/blob/045787dc972f86dec9d3bc4682b857b66b59042e/README.md#pairing-platforms). Scan the QR code or copy the numeric code into the additional platform. Stopping an unfinished attempt cancels its temporary code without removing established connections.

There is an important limit: every connected Matter platform receives the same selection of Homey devices. Version 0.9.0 does not add separate sharing lists for Apple Home, Google Home, or other controllers. If a bedroom sensor should appear only in one ecosystem, this bridge update does not provide that split.

The app requires Homey 12.9.0 or later. Homey's [setup guide](https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/26204255659676-How-to-control-your-devices-in-Apple-Home-with-the-Matter-Bridge-app) names [Homey Pro](/devices/homey-pro) models from 2023 through 2026, [Homey Pro mini](/devices/homey-pro-mini), and Homey Self-Hosted Server as compatible hosts. Homey Cloud by itself is not on that list.

## Share a simple device first

Matter Bridge can expose supported lights, sockets, thermostats, locks, window coverings, and several sensor types. It can also bridge devices that reached Homey through Zigbee, Z-Wave, infrared, 433 MHz, or Wi-Fi when Homey can map them to a supported Matter type. This does not make every Homey integration portable, and advanced controls can remain available only in Homey.

Update the app, confirm the original Matter platform still controls its devices, then add one more platform and test a noncritical light or plug before relying on locks, heating, or alarms. Matterhome has not tested the upgrade or a two-controller setup. Removing a source device from Homey also removes its bridged copy, so deleting and rebuilding the bridge should not be the first troubleshooting step.
