Home Assistant's [2026.10 beta, first released September 30, 2026](https://github.com/home-assistant/core/releases/tag/2026.10.0b0), adds separate sound and light settings for supported Matter leak sensors. The [beta release notes](https://rc.home-assistant.io/blog/2026/09/30/release-202610/) name [IKEA KLIPPBOK](/devices/ikea-klippbok-water-leak-sensor) as an example. Owners can configure the sensor's alarm modes from Home Assistant, but this is still an opt-in beta feature: the October 5 [2026.10.0b1 release](https://github.com/home-assistant/core/releases/tag/2026.10.0b1) remains a prerelease.

The useful change is control over how a leak sensor warns you. The [implementation](https://github.com/home-assistant/core/pull/173233) adds separate configuration switches for audible and visual alarms, preserving one setting when you change the other. They enable or disable those alarm modes; they are not buttons for remotely sounding a siren. If you bought a sensor mainly to hear a leak from the next room, keep its audible warning enabled.

## The sensor must expose the setting

Home Assistant creates these controls only when the accessory exposes the required alarm features and command. A Matter logo alone does not guarantee either switch. Comparing the [stable 2026.9.4 integration](https://github.com/home-assistant/core/blob/2026.9.4/homeassistant/components/matter/switch.py) with the [October beta code](https://github.com/home-assistant/core/blob/2026.10.0b1/homeassistant/components/matter/switch.py) confirms that the settings are new to this beta, rather than a previously hidden stable option.

The beta also adds a [one-touch locking setting](https://rc.home-assistant.io/blog/2026/09/30/release-202610/) for Matter locks that expose it. That setting determines whether a single keypad touch can lock the door; it does not add keypad hardware or promise support for every Matter lock. The release notes do not give a complete model and firmware list for these controls.

For KLIPPBOK owners, this is an extra configuration option, not a reason to replace a working sensor. Connected use still needs Home Assistant's Matter integration and a [Thread border router](https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/matter/). Matterhome has not tested the beta or verified the controls across regional KLIPPBOK firmware versions.

Home Assistant OS users who want to test can open Settings > System > Updates, select the three-dot menu, choose Join beta and install the offered update, following the [official beta instructions](https://www.home-assistant.io/common-tasks/os/#running-a-beta-version). For an everyday installation that depends on leak alerts, wait for stable release notes before changing channels. Home Assistant says beta features can still change or be removed before release.
