A €20.30 outdoor Matter plug looks like an easy way to automate patio lights or a garden load. SONOFF's exact European `S61STPF-PM-O` is more conditional than the price suggests: the plug is IP44, but the company still requires a waterproof enclosure outdoors and equivalent weather protection on the connected plug.

That does not make the S61s Outdoor a poor choice. It makes the best buyer someone who already has a sheltered Type F outlet, strong 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and a real use for its meter. SmartThings and Home Assistant get the deepest Matter path. Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa receive the switch, voice, and scene controls but not the power or energy readings. Matterhome has not tested the plug or its weather protection.
