# Eve Blinds Collection

Eve Blinds Collection is the complete-window-covering path for Matter over Thread, with custom fabric and sizing instead of a retrofit motor. It is appealing for a planned room upgrade, but the measuring, shipping, and return constraints make it a poor impulse buy.

## Best For

- New roller blinds where custom sizing is already part of the plan
- Buyers who want Matter shades without a separate bridge
- Rooms where fabric choice matters as much as automation

## Skip If

- You already have compatible roller blinds that can accept a retrofit motor
- You cannot order in one of Eve's supported shipping countries
- You are not ready to measure and commit to a custom product

## Setup Notes

- Eve lists iPhone or iPad with current iOS or iPadOS, or Android 8.1 or later, plus a Matter controller and Thread border router.
- Eve says the Blinds Collection currently ships only within Germany and the U.S.
- Measure the window and mounting style carefully before ordering.

## Known Limitations

- Custom sizing and regional availability make this harder to recommend sight unseen.
- Battery shade devices do not extend the Thread mesh.
- Some advanced shade behavior may stay in the Eve app.

## Pros

- Custom-sized Matter over Thread roller blinds
- Built-in rechargeable battery
- No separate Eve bridge required
- Fabric and mounting options are configured at order time

## Cons

- Custom orders are not casual returns
- Ships only to limited countries according to Eve's page
- Needs careful measuring before purchase

## The full shade, not the retrofit

Eve Blinds Collection is for replacing or adding the window covering itself. You choose the size, fabric, mounting style, and motor side, then get a Matter-over-Thread roller blind built around Eve MotionBlinds hardware.

That makes it a cleaner finish than a retrofit motor, but also a more consequential purchase. A measuring mistake or wrong fabric choice is not the same problem as returning a plug.

## Setup path

The Matter path needs a controller and a Thread border router. The blind uses a rechargeable battery and Thread, so it behaves as an endpoint in the mesh rather than a router.

The order path matters just as much as pairing. Eve's page notes limited shipping and custom-order terms. Before buying, confirm the country, window measurements, mounting style, cassette or bracket choice, fabric type, and charging access.

## Where it fits

This makes sense when the room is being planned anyway: a bedroom that needs blackout, a sunny office where heat control matters, or a living room where the fabric will stay visible every day.

It is less attractive when you already have good roller blinds. In that case, the retrofit kit may be the more practical Matter upgrade.

## Should you buy it?

Buy Eve Blinds Collection when you want the whole shade package and have measured carefully. Skip it if you are experimenting with Matter shades for the first time or if a retrofit motor would solve the same problem with less commitment.
